Jan Maliepaard

(Ernst)Jan Maliepaard is geboren op 19 juli 1964 te Haarlem.

Jan is een volledig autodidactisch illustrator en kunstschilder, met een zelf ontwikkelde schildertechniek in gouache. Vanuit zijn woning en atelier in De Goorn, een dorp in West Friesland, maakt hij overwegend vrij werk in een stijl die sterk doet denken aan oude foto's, veelal in zwart wit met een blauwe, bruine of sephia steunkleur. Naast de aparte schildertechniek is het relatief geringe formaat van de schilderijen een opvallend kenmerk: Geen wandvullende werken, maar een zeer bescheiden formaat van (veelal) 20 x 30 cm....
